THE LAW OF CONFESSION

In Genesis chapter one, one phrase is repeatedly used: "And God said." Then what He spoke came to
pass.

God called things that were not as though they already were (Rom. 4:17), and with our journey back
into our Little Black Dresses, it is important that we call ourselves what we want. We need to begin
speaking, "I am healthy and I weigh what God created this body to weight." Quit saying, "Man, I am
soooo fat!" That may be true in the natural but God says that everything that is temporal (temporary)
is subject to change (2 Cor. 4:18). Your weight is subject to change.

It's important to speak what we desire to see in them based upon God's Word rather than coming into
agreement with existing negative circumstances.

The Law of Confession is like the Law of Gravity. It is set in stone and it works every time and will
always continue to work. As long as you speak what God says over your life, you will have the results
God says you can have. As long as you speak what the world or devil says over your life, you will
have the results the world or the devil says you can have.

The Law of Confession is a lot like driving a car, too. Recently God gave me this awesome illustration
about confession:

When driving a car, as long as you have your foot on the gas pedal, you will move forward.

As long as you are confessing – or speaking – what God has to say about you, you will be moving
forward into His plans for your life. Everything from healing to the call of God on your life is wrapped
up in the words of your mouth.

While driving your car, if you take your foot off the gas pedal, you will slow down and then eventually
come to a total standstill. You will stop your forward movement.

If you stop confessing what your desire – you will slow down in your forward movement and eventually
everything in your life you want to believe God for will come to a standstill.

Worse, if you begin to speak negative things – things the opposite of what God says – things like,
“Gram had cancer, mom had cancer so I am going to have cancer” instead of “By His stripes, I am
healed” – it is like being in that car, throwing the shifter into REVERSE and zooming backward. You
will move backward, away from what you want to come to pass in your life – in this case, total healing.

Where you are today is the result of what you were speaking yesterday(s). If you want to change
what is going on in your life today – to move forward in the things of God – you will have to change
what you’ve been speaking.

Repent before God for speaking worthless, negative, dead, and dangerous words. Covenant with
Him to speak on what He has to say from now on. It isn’t as hard as it sounds – God is always positive
and always for you. He says you can and you are already an overcomer. His Word is His will – if you
want to know His will, you’ll have to read His Word. You can never know God’s voice without knowing
God’s Word.

Today, let’s make the decision to set your life into the direction of abundant life in every area of your
life! As long as you continue to speak God’s words over your life, you will be moving toward
everything He promised you. Moving forward until it is fulfilled.

You have His Word on it!
